Immoral Behaviour By Men

Recently, I heard a speech on abused women. The speech was very informative for me and had some very graphic picture's of battered women. There was a U-Tube video that was also shown from the movie Enough is Enough. Where a battered women took self defense courses and placed everything in her apart strategically to be used as a weapon. After the clip was over I had a moment in time to scan the room and there were young women sobbing, bawling, and some just had tears running down their face. The worst cases was a girl who was in her seat in the fetal position and just was a mess. I immediately went to her and asked her if she was alright. Her response was this just brought back to many bad memories, as did the other women in the class who were in emotional distress. All of these women had been abused either by a Father, Boyfriend, Uncle, or some other type of male figure in their life. This was just the type of incident that I could not even imagine, when they started to tell their stories. I could feel the pain in that room from all of them, and it made me ashamed to be a guy in their lives. I did ask them if there was male support in their lives and most said they did not have any, and it seemed all of there confidence they hadin any male was drained during the abusive relationship. How on earth could a decent guy if they ever found one have a chance to get together with one of these women. Why would any male want to beat a women, if they did not meet a males expectations why not just walk away. Every one of those women deserved to be treated better than that, and whether they realized it or not, women contain all the power in any relationship. They did ask me how, and I said every guy wants what you have and that they control it by supply and demand. Also, women should set up the ground rules immediately as to what they will and will not accept as proper behavior from a male. This point is very important, if a male cannot meet those expectations then he will lose interest and would not be deserving of your company anyway. Women you must keep the emotion out of your relationship until you can get a intuitive feeling that it will or will not work. Everyone of those women that attended that speech were bright, intelligent and hard working. I just could not believe that abuse is that rampant because my beliefs just would not allow me to do something like that. Gentlemen be warned, all women deserve to be treated kindly. Women if you have been or being abused, please try to end it today. Men treat your women better they truly deserve it.

Technology is a Good Thing

Technology is a good thing, and by this I mean advances we as a society in the field of Medicine. Think of all the cures that have really been discovered in recent times, compared to the last one hundred years. Which really is recent times in the whole scheme of life the thing. Just in the field of childhood diseases, such as Polio, German Measles and Mumps. This vaccine has just about eliminated any occurrences of these diseases in modern times. The strides in medical technology have been huge, and continue to be at the front of our technology advancements. I can remember as a child everyone at a certain age 8 or 9 getting his or her vaccination for small pox on their upper arm, most of us thought it was pretty neat. In modern times I don't even know if they apply that vaccination any longer due to the minimal chance of an outbreak. These are just a few of the technological break trough's in the vaccination field. Lets move on to the surgery field and look at some examples there. Gall bladder, Appendix, and any Arthroscopic procedure is now a minimal evasive procedure done in a couple of hours and with only about a two week recuperation period before you can start to begin physical therapy to minimize your recovery time even more. Olden times these procedures would take a minimum of 6 to 8 week recovery before starting the rehabilitation period. Now the surgeons are giving the older generation and some youger generatios new Knees, Hips, Shoulders, and Transplanting Organs. these type of procedures in the olden days would have been considered goulish and against the supreme beings will. Nowadays however they are quite common place and society seems to accept them and we seem better for it by a vast majority.

Postal Service Meeting a Budget

It is about time that a branch of our government start taking fiscal responsibility for its profit or loss. The Postal service has lost an extremely huge amount of money this year and now there finally going to do something about it. Well let the postal service deal with some of the real business decisions that you and I the regular middle class have to deal with on a regular basis. Example working irregular shifts, having an day off during the week so weekends time can be covered with out premium pay or overtime. The postal service has been a cash cow for so long and people employed there have been accustom to being over paid with fantastic benefits and for the most part have very little hardships to deal with. Now, I know some of you work at a counter helping people and do not get 24 dollars an hour. your lucky to make minimum wage. How would that type of money help you out right now? The postal service could put all the full time employees on salaried positions and then control most of it expenditures for labor, which every big corporation says is its largest expense. The postal service is saying the Internet has been the cause of its demise, well its been the competition. The postal service refused until now to do nothing to change its poor budget habits. Now it wants us to feel sorry for its predicament and I just can not do it. If I ran my business into the ground and expected bailout money every year why would I change what I was doing? There wouldn't be the need to change because I would know that the money would come to make everything right. Well isn't that a great life of no worries to not be accountable for anything. Please let me go there and live in that zip code. But for real people like you and me there is no place like that and never will be, because we are the backbone of this country and we're what makes this country stand up straight and tall. Helping out a governmental agency that is faltering is one thing, but to bailout it out year after year is just plain and simple ridiculous. At least now the postal service is trying to make changes to be fiscally responsible but don't bring it back on the people, do your job make the necessary changes to provide the same service. And by the way Mr. Postmaster welcome to the everyday world of the middle class.

Cost out of Control

Soon prices of every day items will be out of reach for the normal working man or women. How can we keep up with the rising cost of everything when wages do not? You can go back to college and become better educated for a position, but there is no guarantee that you will obtain employment. Their was once a time that a college education would guarantee you employment of some type in your field. What a sad situation we have gotten our society in. Your almost to the point of damned if you do and damned if you don't. I believe that this is going to be part of the reason it will take so long to get out of this recession.
People have lost faith, hope and a sense of things will get better. To many people are not sure of where we are headed that they will not spend the money on any major purchase unless it is an emergency. People have to have the confidence to spend to get this economy going so employers will feel confident to create new positions so people will have incomes to spend again. This has become such a tightly bound wheel that it cannot spin freely any longer. No one really has a plan or no one can even agree on a plan to fix it.
The problem has become a stalemate in government and all the pieces of the puzzle are so expensive that they do not know where to begin to attack the problem. Fixed costs have become a problem, food, fuel, and electrcity are at all time highs. Electric rates have gone up nearly 40 percent how would you like a raise like that and how could it help your situation. Fuel bounces up and down between 25 and 50 percent increases over the last two years, but your wages do not reflect this type of increase. What is a poor man or women to do?
How can we spend money on the economy if costs like this keep rising the way there are. The answer is we can't, because our disposable income is being gobbled up so fast by our every day survival cost. This is the main part of the recession and until it is fixed or repaired we are going to stay in a stagnate position for a long while.

Rights of the Old and Unwanted

Why is it we can treat convicted felons and murders with respect and give them a place to live with all the conveniences. Yet we have a hard time giving the homeless and under privileged the same conveniences. Prisoners eat well have a warm place to sleep and get work out equipment with TV and cable. Why as a society do we reward bad behavior and punish good people down on their luck trying to persevered through a rough period of there life? Prison is a place for people who do bad things, and to go there shouldn't be easy. It should be a place you never want to go to again because of the conditions. Our prisons are like club med compared to some of the conditions good hard working people are scraping to get by or out of a particular situation. The unwanted people of society do not commit crimes, they scrounge for everything they have and use everyones discarded items and put them to good use. Its time to get tough on our inmates we shouldn't have to pay there way to a place where they do not have to reflect on what they did to get there in the first place. We need to make it hard, no TV, no cable, no exercise equipment, no coveinences, just enough food to get them by. We must give them a reason and a the time to reflect on why they are there in the first place. The shouldn't be coddled, they must be made to have conditions that are so poor that they don't want to come back. Remember you the tax payer are subsidizing these people while being incarcerated, don't you want to get the most out of your money? We need to give them the bare minimums of each and every catagory they use products for, even heat, light, medicine, and so on. If you tree huggers out there do not want the incarcerated people to have it to hard then donate your money to subsidize there welfare don't use mine. My money can be spent better on people who are going to atleast try and use for their good or for the good of all. Like scholarships, people who are trying to get out of shelters, single mothers and fathers who want a better lifestyle for their children. These are the types of programs we should be putting our hard earned money into for making a good investment. The other types of programs are just putting good money after bad with no improvement on the status quo.

Making Your Vote Count

We as a society always want things to change, but don't have the energy to make it happen. The voters want to enforce term limits on our elected officials. When they already have the power to do so. Why is it after all these years as voters we don't get it? most elected officials are not in the business of helping their constituents, their in the business of getting re-elected. They will do whatever it takes to get re-elected. Now if that means making deals with lobbyist to provide money for their campaign fund who are they really going to help. The little guy who has no more means to add funds to their campaign war chest, or the companies who can provide the funds necessary to keep them in office. This avenue or road which the elected officials have been going down for decades must come to a end. If we as citizens do not impose self term limits on our elected officials we will never really see any change. Most people don't even know how a bill get to the floor for a vote, plus all the pork, and earmarks others have put into a bill. There is no more common sense in politics. There is no real voice for the average worker, the only voice I hear, is the one that says how and what can we tax more to meet our budget. People this country wasn't conceived on a taxed base, that's why we fought for our independence from England. Everyone is supposed to be equal, then lets tax everyone equally. The middle class can no longer have the burden of the budget on our back to carry. We are made to do this because there are more middle class incomes, than people with large incomes. But we still are all the same Americans, that is what should be considered first. No special interest should be allowed to persuade our elected officials to vote or add earmarks and along with political greed balloon the deficit so just a few can profit. It is going on every day around us and we are not paying any attention to it. Folks please wake up before it is to late for all of us.

Does the punishment fit the crime? What do you think? In most casesI think it doesn't. Even when a crime is committed, at times all evidence cannot be admitted, how dumb is that. Evidence is evidence in my mind. Yes I do believe there shouldn't be any reasonable doubt, but present the whole case not just some parts. How can I make a educated decision if all evidence isn't presented. The judiscial system is screwed up, and when some one is convicted and the evidence is so overwhelmingly against the defendant. I say hang'em high, don't try to reabilitate them don't incarcerate them at the taxpayer expense, do them in or punish them in a way so the victim can have some personal satisfaction. The best deterrent to crime is to scare the bejesus out of someone to make them think twice about what they're doing and what the consequences would be. Make sure that there are consequences too. I don't want any tree hugging judge on the bench that will not stand up for common sense or what's right. Most of the judges get appointed and they're there for life for the most part and do not have to answer for their decisions. The lay person always has to be accountable for their actions and so should people on the bench. These people are not above the law just because they preside over cases. To many of our judiscial post go to pawns of the legislature, and it's sad because it's politics that gets any judge a post. Who you know not how you judge, there's a crime for you.
